I was forced to begin looking for a new roof by my insurance company. They basically doubled my yearly insurance was doubled do only because of the age of my roof. (24yrs) So the agonizing pain begins…start the getting of quotes for new tile roof. After contacting multiple clay/concreate roofing companies, only a few bothered to respond. Those that did gave me a 4-to-6-month timeline… and it would be closer to 6 months. I encountered a gentleman in a neighboring neighborhood who had just finished having a Stone Coated Metal roof installed. I met with him for a couple of hours with questions on his thoughts, his reflections on installation and satisfaction once installed. I can now echo his response. I called the number he gave. The Owner Brent contacted me the same day I called his office staff. We made an appointment the next day to come down and give me an explanation of the process of the installation. I explained that this would be the first metal roof in our development, and it may take a while to get HOA approval. Again, he said if I needed any help or if I wanted him to meet with the Board he would be there. Fortunately, there was only a little kickback and with the information I was given I was able to get the Board approval. Now I was up against a tight timeline as my insurance company due date was fast approaching. Recognizing this was not Brents problem but mine I explained my situation, and said it was mine not Brents but would appreciate the sooner the better. Brent was just finishing another job in the area, so he was able to fit me in within three weeks finishing 2 days before the insurance was due. I will also say it made a big difference in my insurance rate and they were ecstatic hearing I had switched over to a metal roof.
Brent showed up every day to ensure everything was being completed as described and if I had any questions answered immediately. They showed up 7am and worked until 6pm. They started on Monday and work util Saturday taking Sunday off. They finished the following Monday. Every day they made sure the area was cleaned up and things were in place not to disturb the neighbors. I cannot over express my positivity on Brent, his crew, his staff in their very professional manner. I highly recommend using Guardian and Brent without hesitation.

Had a great experience working with Brent and his crew from Guardian Roofing. Excellent communication, hard working, and did an outstanding job. They worked from 7am to 6pm Mon-Sat for two full weeks to complete a full roof replacement with Tilcor stone coated metal roofing material. I have multiple structures on my property and extensive detail work that needed to be completed. It turned out great and the entire neighborhood loves my new roof. Guardian Roofing is THE BEST! Living in a HOA, we had (outdated) rules forbidding metal roofs. Needing a new roof due to Hurricane Ian, I did a LOT of research on metal roofs. Different styles, composites, materials and installers. The choice narrowed to Guardian and one other company, which I dismissed upon receiving their sample. I contacted and asked Brent Woody, President, if I could have a sample of the Stone-Coated Barrel-type roof to present to my HOA for approval. He had one of his team members make a special trip to get it to me in time for our meeting. They supplied all of the required information and we got it approved. The re-roofing process itself was a breeze. His team showed up on time, ready to work, every day. They took special care of shrubs, driveways and walkways. They were EXTREMELY polite and very accomodating. Neighbors & friends came by to look (“inspect”) and were treated cordially and given samples for their own use. When “county inspection” time came, the inspector did his job, signed off on the work, and, when I asked him for his thoughts on this/these roofs, he answered “This is a good one. You’ll NEVER have a problem with this one!” 8 MONTHS LATER, when we were finally having our pool cage rebuilt, Brent & his team worked with the cage installer to get the job done CORRECTLY. WORLD-CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE! To ANYONE who is reading this, if you are looking for a company to install a new or re-roof, DO contact Guardian Roofing! A+++. Guardian Roofing recently installed our new metal roof and did an excellent job. We had intended to transition from shingles to metal a couple of years down the road before we retire. But, hurricane Sally had other plans and forced us to replace our roof now. It turned out better than we visualized. Brent, the owner, was very professional as well as his job manager and installation crew. My neighbors on both sides and my brother are considering using Guardian Roofing as well. Do stone-coated steel roofs attract lightning?
Stone-coated steel roofing doesn’t attract lightning more than any other roofing material. Metal is a good conductor of electricity, but it doesn’t “draw” lightning. Lightning strikes the tallest object in an area, regardless of the material. If lightning does strike a stone-coated steel roof, the material will safely disperse the energy because it’s non-combustible and durable, reducing the risk of fire.
are stone-coated steel roofs noisy?
Stone-coated steel roofs do not create any more noise than traditional roofing materials. The stone coating itself can help dampen sound along the multiple forms in the metal compared to a traditional, flat metal panel. The overall noise level is also influenced by the installation method and type of construction. Most modern homes have plywood decking and attic space with insulation. These features have sound-deadening properties making the noise level comparable to other types of roofs. Old “tin” roofs on barns or porches aren’t usually supported by attics or insulation, so rain sounds louder on those metal roofs than it does on the metal roof of a house.
